  • This was discussed in the last meeting and the consensus was not to include references to Merit in the charter but agree it could be included in the HR manual.

  • I'm agnostic on adding the phrase but don't think it adds much and could open interpretation of the word "experience". I trust any CM would be looking for appropriate experience as table stakes, and if not, CC would not approve the hiring of an inexperienced chief.

  • It's a good point. I don't see the city abandoning the ESD; we should be looking for more regional collaboration and scale. Even if we put a placeholder in, it would likely require a charter amendment in the future anyway to establish one so adding now would just be clutter in my opinion.

[Line 34] "Make reports as the Council may require concerning the operations of City departments, offices, and agencies subject to the City Manager's supervision, including the posting of a Weekly Report which addresses accomplishments of the ending week and an outline of plans for the following week;"
