Commissioners,
I look forward to seeing everyone at this afternoon’s P&Z meeting. In advance of our discussion on the proposed rezoning at 19708 Boggy Ford Road, I want to share several concerns related to tree preservation as presented in the ordinance and its exhibits. I may add additional items later today as time permits.
After reviewing the Tree Preservation Plan, I noted that the tree IDs range from 16 to 361. If we assume the numbering begins at 1 and continues sequentially, this suggests:
Before we can fully understand the environmental and community‑character impacts of this proposed PDD, I believe we need clearer information on the complete tree inventory, removal totals, preservation totals, and replacement plan.
What are your thoughts on this?

In advance of our discussion on the proposed rezoning at 19708 Boggy Ford Road, I want to share several concerns related to tree preservation as presented in the ordinance and its exhibits. After reviewing the Tree Preservation Plan, I noted that the tree IDs range from 16 to 361. If we assume the numbering begins at 1 and continues sequentially, this suggests:
- At least 361 total trees were surveyed
- 74 protected trees are proposed for removal
- 26 protected trees are proposed to be retained
- 100 protected trees total
- Approximately 261+ unprotected trees are present but not listed individually in the plan
- How many of the 261+ unprotected trees will be removed
- The total number of trees (protected + unprotected) on the site
- The total number of trees (protected + unprotected) proposed for removal
- The total number of trees (protected + unprotected) proposed for preservation
- How many replacement trees, if any, are being planted
Before we can fully understand the environmental and community‑character impacts of this proposed PDD, I believe we need clearer information on the complete tree inventory, removal totals, preservation totals, and replacement plan.
