Comments:
“I think the vast majority of citizens prefer to "set it and forget it" when it comes to local government until something happens that they don't like. So I wouldn't expect many citizens to read the city charter or even know what a city charter is.”
“Where do we even find a copy.. can you link it with this??”
“Mark Douglas I know you all have been working really hard on this for months. Thanks for Volunteering..Also when you finish will you have the comparison to the old one of what you have changed?”
(My response to the above):
“I believe so. That being said, we were tasked with creating a total rewrite. So I’m not sure how we’d create a comparison document.
It’s a good question. I’m going to bring it to the committee in that message board I linked.”
“Mark Douglas Didn't CRC have a copy of the redlined changes that were proposed to the old charter before it was decided to scratch everything and develop from the ground up? That needs to be on the city website for comparison purposes. Mark Douglas It needs to be on the city website because I bet a very small percentage of citizens even know what the "Discussion Board" is much less can find it. And even if they do, likely do not "go" to it to keep up with the updates to read "new" messages.
I regularly go to and read the forum messages but most citizens likely do not.“
