3/6/2025 Agenda Item 15 Water Funding Applications

Shane Saum

Councilmember
Council,

Tomorrow night, for Agenda Item 15 we will be reviewing the drafts of our PIFs for the TWDB funding, which are due on March 7th. I have provided my proposed updates in emails to Taylor and I will add my 4 updates to the project descriptions below.

We will also be reviewing our Federal Community Project Fund application. As you will notice, this is less formal than the TWDB and more narrative. We have until March 20th to submit this. Let us prioritize the PIF, but keep our eye on this federal process through Congressman McCaul's office as well. As of this post, there were not any documents provided in the agenda packet for this item, so I have added what I sent to Taylor and Bill (our application writer). I believe the project specifics need more expanding upon and the dates and numbers need to be confirmed by Taylor.

I also included all of our 50 support letters for federal funding in one PDF which I put together. This includes our support letters from all local elected leaders and the Chamber. I will add any additional documents to our federal letters as this all needs to be in one big PDF.

Please let us know if you have any additions to any of these applications.

Attached are 2 more documents I put together to be added to our applications. The News Articles document is for our federal community project funding. One of the requirements is to show news articles.

The other document is for our TWDB WTP Expansion PIF to demonstrate the urgency of our project by showing how many alerts have gone out for water outages, low pressure etc.

Attached here are the requirements documents for submitting our community project funding request for the energy and water development subcommittee. Some of these docs say FY 2025, as the House Appropriations Committee has not put out their official docs yet. However, Congressman McCaul's office sent out their guidance and asked that we submit by March 20th so they can help put it all together for the Appropriations Committee in April. We are applying for FY 26. These docs are not in the packet.
